Data Centre Campus
Our first data centre campus in Spain, developing a 224-hectare site in Calatorao, in the province of Zaragoza.
With the investment of funds managed by affiliates of Blackstone, digital infrastructure leader QTS is proud to develop and operate this project.

As part of our commitment to being a good neighbour, we hosted a community event to introduce QTS and share more about the proposed data centre development. It was a great opportunity to connect with community members and begin building strong, collaborative relationships.
QTS is building new data centres to provide the infrastructure necessary to support the surging demands of an increasingly digital world; and in doing so, we remain committed to minimising environmental impacts. Our data centres feature a water-free cooling system, are built to green building standards and aim to source power from carbon-free sources.
As a data centre sustainability leader, QTS has developed a multi-pronged approach to target water inefficiencies within its portfolio of global data centres and thereby support both the environment and the communities in which it operates.
QTS will use its industry-leading water-free cooling system, significantly reducing requirements on local water supplies. The cooling systems operate with a free-cooling technology which helps to minimise power consumption.
Our sustainability goals aim to enhance lives while minimising environmental impact, reducing our carbon footprint, promoting clean energy and benefiting the community.
We plan to create green spaces on-site and our development will ensure preservation of key habitats and off- and on-site biodiversity enhancements.
A data centre is a critical infrastructure building that stores large amounts of digital data. You likely access a data centre whenever you use your mobile phone, access your online banking or medical records, or engage in any digital activity.
Data centres play a critical role for businesses and communities. They enable reliable internet connectivity and ensure secure data storage.
Data centres generate important local investment, helping to support local communities and their priorities. The state-of-the-art facility in Calatorao will represent a multi-billion-euro investment.
Creating a data centre campus in Calatorao will bring direct and indirect employment opportunities, both during the construction of the facility and its ongoing operation.
The Calatorao data centre is expected to create approximately 1,400 direct jobs. QTS is committed to recruiting from the local area to establish a local workforce.
The jobs created by QTS’s data centre campuses will extend beyond just those inside the data centre itself. Up to 2,000 indirect jobs are expected.
QTS goes far beyond building and operating the world’s most advanced, sustainable data centres. We’re committed to the communities we operate in. We are actively working in the communities of Calatorao and Zaragoza to find out where and how we can best support residents.
Our company and employees donate time, technology and resources to support local programmes and agencies. We are committed to improving communities and changing lives.
For example, in the UK we support Thames21 in riverbank clean-up.
In the Netherlands we have supported Children’s Play Week, Foundation for Surinamese Families, Groninger Museum, Netherlands Food Bank, Foodbank Groningen, Thuisbasis Veteranen, Stichting Kwaku and Westerbork Museum.
