Title: Financial Reporting Analyst
QTS Location: OVP South
Years with QTS: 1.5
What does a day in your position look like?
It changes day to day, but typically I come into the office and work on monthly deliverables (such as ACD prep, revenue loss prep, Blackstone monthly dashboard slides, other ad hoc requests related to revenue, etc.) as well as work on automating those deliverables through a software program in order to make our data more readily available more efficiently.
What is your favorite part of working for QTS?
The Culture. I absolutely love that QTS cares about its people and listens to all feedback given by employees. I feel valued and heard every day. The culture here is unlike anywhere else I have been a part of and makes me excited to come to work every day. I also love that QTS’ core values align with my own core values and that we not only focus on making the business and each other better every day, but also making our communities better each day.
What other QTS opportunities do you take advantage of outside your day-to-day position?
I am involved in EVP, volunteering events (including leading an event or two a year), Blackstone Analyst Accelerator Program, various virtual trainings put on by Lori Barker, and the most fun one of them all, Kansas City Corporate Challenge.
What passions do you have inside and outside the office?
I am really passionate about giving back to the community and helping others when I can. I have been fortunate enough to be in a position to do so and I use every opportunity I can to help others get to that same point in their lives. I also really enjoy working on becoming a better leader and person each day. I am involved in Leadership Lawrence through the Chamber of Commerce of Lawrence and really enjoy continuing to better myself and community any way I can. Other things I love doing are reading, going to sports events/live music, playing with my dog, hanging out with family, and traveling.
What does a perfect day outside of the office look like for you?
The perfect summer day outside of the office is me camping with family on some water somewhere in 75 ̊-80 ̊ weather spent fishing, boating, swimming, etc. all day and finish the day off laying in a hammock by a fireplace reading a book and making S’mores.
