What is your favorite part of working for QTS?
My favorite part of my time at QTS is the constant state of growth and improvement we’ve undertaken as a company while managing to remain true to our values, maintain a high level of service to our customers and honor our responsibility to our shareholders across various stages in the company’s acceleration. I’ve also had the great fortune to work alongside some exceptional people during my tenure at QTS and I’m very thankful to call them friends.
What does a day in your position look like?
No two days are the same in my role. Generally, my day consists of helping solve immediate challenges as they arise for new business opportunities the company is exploring and balancing that work with making sure that other long-term strategic projects are progressing. Generally, these projects are a blend of items I’m working on while also advising other team members on the best path forward for their projects.
What passions do you have inside and outside of the office?
Within the business, I genuinely enjoy helping the company grow and providing a great service for our customers, while also generating an optimum return on capital for the company. In my personal time, I’m a lifelong learner, currently spending a lot of my time on pursuits in whitewater kayaking, motorsports, and expanding my genre-diverse record collection.
How has your position evolved as the business grows?
I’ve had the opportunity in my time at QTS to serve multiple different functions as the company has grown. Early on, I was focused on helping the company build and maintain our long-term planning corporate financial model. As the business accelerated, I began to spend more time focusing on helping the business acquire land and datacenters. Recently I’ve spent most of my time supporting the business as we accelerate our build-to-suit business.
What does a perfect day outside of the office look like for you?
A perfect day would be getting on the river, preferably the Chattooga, or a drive in the mountains. Then a mid-afternoon nap to recover, followed by a great dinner with friends.
