QTS Location: Overland Park, Kansas
Years with QTS: 3
What does a day in your position look like?
I am fortunate to get to work with individuals companywide to lead projects to completion. Each day this looks a little bit different whether I’m gathering requirements, following up on action items or meeting with teams to discuss. It is an exciting time to be a project manager with how quickly QTS is growing!
What is your favorite part of working for QTS?
My favorite part is the culture and the opportunities to grow with the company. I started at QTS three years ago and have been given so many opportunities to grow and develop myself, most recently through my move from BSS Analyst to Project Manager. The culture is something that can’t be replicated – between companywide volunteer events, care for employees as individuals and everything in between, the culture is what makes QTS the best place to work.
What is one of the challenges you face in your position?
I wouldn’t necessarily say it is a challenge but as someone in a new position, I am learning the ins and outs of my new role.
What passions do you have inside and outside the office?
Within QTS I enjoy facilitating companywide service projects. Most recently I have been coordinating the Veteran’s Day Event for Overland Park. Outside of the office, I love serving my community. I do this a variety of ways, but my favorite is supporting at-risk youth through leading art-therapy and life skills workshops. I am also a dedicated equestrian and have three horses: Lovely, Diesel, and Rosie. Rosie and I spend most of our weekends traveling to competitions together. We ranked 4th in the World earlier this year!
What does a perfect day outside of the office look like for you?
My perfect fall day would start with me catching up on just a little sleep before spending time with my horses – fall weather is perfect for riding outside. You can find me eating at Woodyard Barbecue (a hidden KC gem) and finishing my day making to-go boxes to pass out to the homeless population downtown.
