My journey with the United States Marine Corps began with Officer Candidate School in 2001. Following The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course, I served with 2d Battalion, 3d Marines, Company E as a Platoon Commander, Weapons Platoon Commander and Company Executive Office over the course of three deployments. In 2007 I rotated to serve as a Team Leader at 2d Marine Special Operations Battalion until separating from active duty in September 2010. Following active duty, I moved to Washington D.C. and continued to work as a government contractor for multiple USG classified programs until 2022.
During my time supporting the Intelligence Community, I crossed paths with a great American named John Reynolds. John was instrumental in educating me on the unique opportunities within the data center industry and the niche market we were well positioned for across the federal landscape.
What is your favorite part of your role at QTS?
My absolute favorite part of QTS is our Community Impact Program. QTS is amazing at giving back to the communities we live and work in. The servant leadership and community first culture are something that really resonate with me from my military days. During both my Infantry and Special Operations time, the stories that were often missed are the unbelievable amount of time spent engaging with the local populace through shuras, village projects, and bringing supplies into starving communities within our area of operations. Our deployments, whether Afghanistan or Iraq, were always significantly more successful by gaining the trust of the people within the villages/districts/provinces in which we operated. That trust and rapport with the local villagers is only built through sincere and dedicated time listening to their problems and finding solutions to actually make a difference within their day-to-day lives.
What passions do you have inside and outside of the office?
Spending time with my wife and three kids is the best. And if I have 30 mins of free time you can find me on the putting green mastering true roll!
