Data Centre Campus
Our first data centre campus in Finland, developing a 150-hectare site in Forssa.
With the investment of funds managed by affiliates of Blackstone, digital infrastructure leader QTS is proud to develop and operate this project.
why qts
As the digital infrastructure leader, QTS is proud to serve Forssa by delivering lasting value to our neighbors, our businesses and our environment. Our commitment goes beyond technology—we connect the world with purpose through responsible growth, local partnership and community engagement.
Data centres require thousands of skilled workers to design, construct and operate. We choose markets like Forssa because of access to a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
We achieve our sustainability mission by prioritising both business success and ethical conduct. This means enhancing the lives of employees, customers, investors and communities while preserving the environment. We make sustainable choices across all aspects of our operations.
We’re committed to Forssa—supporting local schools, improving public spaces and partnering with neighbors to ensure our shared growth benefits everyone, now and into the future.
QTS is building new data centers to provide the infrastructure necessary to support the surging demands of an increasingly digital world; and in doing so, we remain committed to minimising environmental impacts. Our data centers feature a water-free cooling system, are built to green building standards and aim to source power from carbon-free sources.
As a data center sustainability leader, QTS has developed a multi-pronged approach to target water inefficiencies within its portfolio of global data centers and thereby support both the environment and the communities in which it operates.
QTS will use its industry-leading water-free cooling system, significantly reducing requirements on local water supplies. The cooling systems operate with a free-cooling technology which helps to minimise power consumption.
Our sustainability goals aim to enhance lives while minimising environmental impact, reducing our carbon footprint, promoting clean energy and benefiting the community.
We plan to create green spaces on-site and our development will ensure preservation of key habitats and off- and on-site biodiversity enhancements.
A data centre is a critical infrastructure building that stores large amounts of digital data. You likely access a data centre whenever you use your mobile phone, access your online banking or medical records, or engage in any digital activity.
Data centres play a critical role for businesses and communities. They enable reliable internet connectivity and ensure secure data storage.
Estimated job creation for data centres varies depending on the type of product housed within the facilities and potential site plans. But once fully completed, we expect this campus to generate more than 300 QTS operational jobs.
Additionally, the data centre construction will create more than 500 construction jobs at its peak.
QTS goes far beyond building and operating the world’s most advanced, sustainable data centres.
We’re committed to the communities we operate in. We will be actively working in the Forssa community to find out where and how we can best support residents.
The construction is likely to take place over multiple phases across several years. Phase one construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2027.
Traffic during construction is anticipated to fluctuate based on the construction phase. We will work with the municipality to reduce any disturbances and are committed to providing a high level of service and accessibility by keeping the community informed about planned construction.
We’re committed to being good neighbours and we expect operational and maintenance traffic to be low. Most of the operational vehicles visiting the sites will be small cars and medium vans.
Our company and employees donate time, technology and resources to support local programmes and agencies. We are committed to improving communities and changing lives.
For example, in the UK we support Thames21 in riverbank clean-up.
In the Netherlands we have supported Children’s Play Week, Foundation for Surinamese Families, Groninger Museum, Netherlands Food Bank, Foodbank Groningen, Thuisbasis Veteranen, Stichting Kwaku and Westerbork Museum.
QTS is powered by people who are here for you. If you have any questions about our data center campus or want to connect with our team, we welcome your outreach. Let’s work together to ensure Forssa stays strong, informed and empowered at every stage of this project.
Becoming one of the fastest growing data center companies was no accident. Our innovative thinkers are the go-to sources for the latest information in data center space.
