Our data center community pledge

To deliver on the future of technological innovation for our world-class customers, QTS is constructing a data center campus in Fayetteville, Georgia. We are committed to transparency throughout our data center construction process, and we are sharing project updates to ensure awareness and to address any questions or concerns.

QTS Data Centers has retained ClayCo Inc. and HITT Contracting Inc. as our General Contractors for this project. While this project and all associated construction activities are being conducted pursuant to state, local, and federal permitting and regulatory requirements, we wanted to make sure we are communicating updates with our neighbors.

QTS is building new data centers to provide the infrastructure necessary to support the surging demands of an increasingly digital world; and in doing so, QTS remains committed to minimizing environmental impacts. QTS’s data centers feature a water-free cooling system, are built to green building standards with the goal of achieving Energy Star Building Certification and aspire to utilize 100% carbon-free electricity.

Frequently Asked Questions

A data center is a facility that stores and manages large amounts of digital data. Data centers are essential for businesses, governments and organizations that rely on technology to operate and communicate. You access a data center whenever you use your cell phone, a credit card, the cloud or any online activity.

Data centers bring investment to the area through tax revenues, as well as construction, manufacturing, and technology jobs. In Fayetteville, these tax revenues, at the direction of local taxing jurisdictions, will generally go towards addressing pressing issues for community members, including public works, community development programs, and education. From 2020 to 2021 alone, Georgia’s data center industry generated approximately $5.3 billion in economic output. The presence of data centers in the area will also help attract other companies to Fayetteville and create greater job opportunities.
