As 2023 comes to an end, we are grateful for a year of exponential growth. Here is a recap of the many milestones we have reached this year.
In January we announced the expansion of our Suwanee campus with additional space and power in the form of the QTS Suwanee 1 DC2 facility.
The QTS Development team celebrated the topping-out ceremony at ATL1 – DC4 in February.
March saw the opening of a third data center at our Irving campus. QTS Irving 1 DC3 features state-of-the-art security and safety measures, ensuring customers’ data is kept safe and secure. Additionally, it employs advanced cooling systems, allowing for efficient and reliable data center operation.
In April we shared why it’s important that we keep our data center floor clear of any unnecessary items, including cardboard and boxes.
We celebrated our Phoenix campus in May. What started as just one data center, expanded quickly into a QTS Phoenix campus made up of what will be five data centers.
In June, we sat down with Bill Nichols, QTS EHS Director to discuss how we continue to make safety our number one priority as we grow so quickly. “Growth leads to safety challenges, especially at the rate QTS is moving; however, this is an opportunity to place safety in the forefront of our progress.”
During July we did a deep dive on the QTS Freedom data center design. This design standardizes every facet of the data center—from the building architecture and layout to critical equipment and logistical deployment.
In August, we shared the 20-year story of growing one of our first Data Centers. QTS Suwanee DC2 office space began undergoing renovations to bring the building up to QTS standards.
In September, we announced our $1 billion investment in York County to build our first data center campus in South Carolina.
October’s Q&A with Executive Vice President of Development, Laney Marinich illustrated how the team remains agile and adjusts to new challenges that come with fast-paced growth.
Our November 2023 announcement included yet another new market with our expansion into Ohio. The campus will offer significant capacity to support ongoing growth in the well-connected and energy-rich Columbus region.
As we wrap up the year, we want to thank every customer, community and partner that continues to make our growth possible. We look forward to continuing the momentum into 2024 and beyond.
