What does a day in your position look like?
I love that every day is different. Most days I work with my team and other departments to improve processes and systems. At month end, I review our financial statements for accuracy and work with my team to prepare financial analysis.
What is your favorite part of working for QTS?
It is an exciting time to be at QTS. QTS is growing at an accelerated pace. I enjoy working for a company that that has an entrepreneurial spirit and there is great excitement about our future.
What do you love most about leading your team?
My team is amazing. Each individual brings something unique to the table. Our jobs are demanding but we always find a way to make it work. Even in challenging situations, we work through it together and come out better for it.
What advice would you give someone looking to take on or grow within a financial role?
Take the opportunities that are presented to you AND seek opportunities that are not as obvious. Also, be present. Even a seemingly routine meeting might be an opportunity to learn from an inspiring leader or to better understand a complex topic. Finally, use your time wisely by focusing on bigger picture first before you dive too far into the details.
What does a perfect day outside of the office look like for you?
A perfect day is spending time with friends, then my husband and I taking our beagle on a walk, and finishing the day attending a rock concert.
